A boat made entirely from trash set sail from Taiwan this week. The trimaran was part of an eco-friendly boat competition sponsored by the National Geographic Channel in Taiwan.
Nicknamed the Polli-Boat, the vessel is 7m long and made of 804 plastic bottle bricks. Old advertising banners are used for the sails and solar panels serve as a backup energy source for an electric motor. It may not be able to pull a water-skier, but its sure looks nice for a boat made from refuse. [Calgary Sun]
