Speaker Dock Has Analogue Feel In A Digital World

Sure, I’ve promised to be more discerning in our Apple coverage, but that’s exactly why I thought Skullcandy’s new vintage guitar amp-styled iPhone/iPod dock deserved a looksee. Yeah, I’m a retro tragic.

I’ve often found Skullcandy’s skater-like headphone designs and phone cases to be either hit or miss, but the specs on this dock—dubbed the Vandal—actually seem pretty decent.

Aside from twiddly top-side knobs to control trebble and bass, it’s got 80mm woofers, 19mm tweeters (21 watts total), and a 3.5mm headphone jack for connecting anything you like. At US$180, it’s not exactly cheap, but I guess looks don’t come easy. [Skullcandy via Gadgetell]
