Optus Launches Cloud Services For Small Businesses

title=Optus today has launched its OfficeApps service for small and medium businesses, a range of cloud-based software offerings to try and take away the IT difficulties in running a business. The first offering is essentially just a rebadged Google Apps offering, with Gmail, Google Docs, Google calendar and Gtalk. There’s also some True Local integration thrown in there.

Why would anyone sign up for Google apps through Optus when Google does a pretty good job of it itself, you ask? Optus claims its the customer service. There are three packages available, with prices starting from $10 a month per user and ranging up to $25 a month per user. The packages also include migrating and hosting of your business’s domain name, plus unmetered access from Optus mobile and mobile broadband accounts.

Also worth noting is that the Email and Collaboration packages are simply the first service Optus is rolling out, so there will potentially be even more services your business could take advantage of if it signed up. Maybe.
