The Building Is A Giant Glistening Glass Fish

Reykjavik, Iceland is getting a new concert hall. And it looks like Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. Only… for music! The Harpa Concert Hall, modeled after Icelandic basalt crystals, is composed of thousands of glass scales, gleaming and colorful.

The, which will become the new HQ of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic Opera hall will sit right by the water, reflecting and refracting the surface as the day goes by. When night hits, it’s set ablaze by an LED lighting system. It looks pretty stunning—just don’t play baseball next to it. [Inhabitat]
