Mark Zuckerberg Kicked Off Facebook

It’s safe to say Indianapolis bankruptcy lawyer Mark S. Zuckerberg is the second-most famous person named Mark Zuckerberg in the entire world. That didn’t keep Facebook from deleting his account because the social network thought he was impersonating the other Mark Zuckerberg.

Facebook has already told Indianapolis’ WISH-TV that they were in the process of reactivating Other Mark Zuckerberg’s account and apologised for the mix-up.

But the snafu is just the latest slight to 49-year-old Mark S. Zuckerberg, who has watched himself essentially erased from the internet by the stratospheric rise of that pipsqueak Mark E. Zuckerberg. But Mark S. Zuckerberg has made the best of his existential blotting out, launching a pseudocareer as the plucky underdog Other Zuckerberg.

He set up an entire website explaining that he, too, was named Mark Zuckerberg – IAmMarkZuckerberg.com – which also doubles as an ad for his law firm. On the site he laments, “If you had Googled Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, you would have found me. No one else. Mark S. Zuckerberg, bankruptcy attorney. If you had repeated the search two years later, you wouldn’t have found me at all. Now my name isn’t mine any more.”

Other Zuck doesn’t even like Facebook; in an interview with the Indianapolis Star he claimed it caused his divorce. Plus, he gets “a dozen phone calls a day from people complaining about Facebook and demanding tech support”. Nice deal for Facebook: They make it impossible for people to reach them, and some random Midwestern dude gets the fallout.

However, we suspect a good deal of Other Zuckerberg’s outrage might be a clever ploy to boost his law firm’s page rank. On IAmMarkZuckerberg.com, he writes, “Let me tell you this: I will rule the search for “Mark Zuckerberg bankruptcy”. That is, until the real Mark Zuckerberg off-handedly says the word “bankruptcy” in a 60 Minutes interview or something.
