AT&T Switches On HSUPA To Make Atrix More Like Actual 4G

Something that’s fun to do if you’re a company is stick the word 4G onto something and instantly make it awesome – like “x-treme” in the ’90s. But it’s bullshit. AT&T’s crap Atrix 4G is about to get less crappy.

The crippled “4G” device will get its long overdue HSUPA-enabling software update (over the air or manually), boosting data speeds northward from their currently sub-3G spot. It won’t fix the issue of misleading branding, but it’ll at least make Atrix owners feel not so much like suckers. [BGR]
