An iPhone App For The Post-Rapture Barter Economy

The post-apocalypse recession is bound to be a doozy. If you don’t have the stomach for looting (why aren’t you in heaven, pussy?), or don’t have a gold stockpile, you’ll probably have to barter for basic survival needs.

Barto’s an app/service from ITP student Qia Liu that makes bartering easier than eBay and less seedy than Craigslist. Simply put your no-longer-wanted good up for trade, and offers and counter-offers show up with a shake of your phone. Then just pick the best one, and boom, you’re trading fancy hats for practical tools, like hammers or pickaxes or a mini-fridge. [Barto]
