Enter Applied Materials’ AKT-Aristo Twin PVD, which pumps out twice as many touch panels while taking up almost half the space as its previous-gen touch panel manufacturing equipment. It’s able to produce two different kinds of touch panels on one system, using two two vacuum processing tracks that can run completely independently. Faster production means more supply, which means cheaper panels – and hopefully, cheaper gadgets. [Applied Materials]
