New Songs On Amazon Now Just 69 US Cents

Amazon’s dropped the price of popular new tracks on its online store to 69 US cents, compared to its usual 89 US cent price point. (Best joke in the comments wins respect; terrible puns will be met with serious scorn.)

Amazon’s also selling 1500 albums for $US5 next month. Amazon’s clearly playing hardball against Apple, who’s doing the exact opposite: pricing popular songs at a premium, $US1.29/$A1.69.

And that’s why we’re buying way more stuff from Amazon than iTunes lately. [LA Times via Techmeme]
