iPhone Tweetdeck 2.0 Released, Completely Rebuilt

iOS: Popular Twitter app TweetDeck for iPhone has released a new version, completely rebuilt from the ground up to be faster, sleeker and more efficient. Older versions of Tweetdeck have been temporarily removed from the iTunes App Store.

Aside from keeping the same classic colour scheme, Tweetdeck 2.0 has been completely revamped in nearly every way. The same services are still offered (like interacting with both Facebook and Twitter), but the app’s navigation seems to have been through a major overhaul.

The new app is being called a “re-imagining” by its creators, who have temporarily pulled all previous versions from iTunes because TweetDeck 2.0 is not an update for earlier versions, but a complete replacement app. Older versions will be re-added to the App Store once they’ve been updated to point existing users to the new version. While the app is universal for compatible iOS devices, it’s been specially reworked for the Retina display, and updates are expected soon to optimise it for iPad users as well.

TweetDeck 2.0 is a free app for devices running iOS 4.0 or later, and is available at the iTunes App Store.
