I’d heard that certain cultures like to furnish their deceased loved ones with paper tokens for the afterlife – think Monopoly money, paper Viagra, that sort of thing. But those iPad-lovers need their tablets for the afterlife too, according to the Malaysian families who have bought up paper iPads in bulk.
A Malaysian shopkeeper told Reuters that “some of my customers have dreams where their departed relatives will ask for luxury items including the iPad 2”, but unfortunately he “can only offer them the first iPad model”. Plus paper iPhones and Samsung Galaxy Tabs, naturally.
It seems in the afterlife, specs don’t matter much – the paper iPads, which sell for a buck each, have a storage capacity of 888GB, for extra luck. [Reuters]
