"Dude, This Synth Music Is Killing Me Tonight!"

Ziggybox from Christian Losert on Vimeo.

Meet the Ziggybox. By way of a few strategically-placed cigarettes, cigarette boxes and some sensors, it creates music that totally slays the people who listen to it.

Designers Christian Losert and Paul Schengber even created a handy video so you can see how it works and what it sounds like. Driving the rig are light sensors, C++ and Open Frameworks software.

Very neat, but it’s too bad those cancer sticks are what’s needed to power that catchy tune. Could this pink lung use a carrot or something instead? No, I can’t? Man, what a drag. [Synthopia via technabob]
