The Federal Aviation Administration, the country’s top federal agency for documenting instances of unauthorised nappy time, has yet another embarrassing incident on its hands. This time, the air traffic controller wasn’t asleep – he was just watching a terrible Samuel L. Jackson movie. (But not the one about the snakes on the plane. We were disappointed, too.)
While manning the tower in Oberlin, Ohio, a controller inadvertently activated his microphone, broadcasting dialogue from the long-forgotten 2007 film, Cleaner, for over three minutes. He could receive no transmissions from the planes he was supposed to be monitoring during that time.
Both the controller and his manager have since been suspended. But hey – at least they were up! We’re moving in the right direction. [AP, photo via New Line]
