Sendoid Is Like Dropbox, BitTorrent, Rapidshare Rolled Into One

There’s a new file transfer service on the block, and from the looks of it, it doesn’t suck. Sendoid combines the best aspect of sites like Rapidshare and Mediafire, services like Dropbox and protocols such as BitTorrent.

Like TechCrunch points out, it’s the best of all worlds (if you only intend to send a file to a single person): no worries about file sizes, security, or upload/wait times. And the best part is that they package the entire thing into a browser-based interface so simple, your parents could probably use it (probably). Here’s the gist of how it works: you loadup the Sendoid site in your browser, then select the file you’d like to share. Sendoid spits a URL back to you. You give that URL to the person you’d like to share a file with and they logon and elect to download the file, A direct connection between the two of you is opened up which is protected by 128-bit encryption and VOILA.

Sendoid will let you transfer files anywhere between 600MB and 1GB (depending on a pre-determined criteria) using your browser. For bigger files, there’s a free desktop app you can download. They’re even working on apps for iOS and Android. And you can use it starting today, so check it out. [Sendoid via TechCrunch]
