Almost a year ago, I fell in love with the Alice for iPad app. I declared it the cleverest iPad book yet and happily recommended to friends. Now I get to recommend its silly sequel, Alice in New York.
Now before you yell at me for recommending yet another nine dollar iPad app, you must understand that I have a major weakness for Alice in Wonderland, silly popup books and modern spins on classics.
This little app takes advantage of all three of those weaknesses by being a goofy modern take on the classic Alice Through The Looking Glass book. It puts all the characters into present day New York – Tweedledum and Tweedledee are taxi drivers, Humpty Dumpty is a construction worker, and so on – and it looks fantastic.
To me, the nine dollar price tag is worth it for the beautiful illustrations and amusing interactive elements – and a regular children’s popup book will cost you just as much if not more. But don’t take my word for it, watch the video above for a look at this silly app. [iTunes]
