Google +1 Rolling Out Today

Google +1, what was once rumoured to be Google’s big social project and later transformed into a toolbar, is now live and is, well, neither of those two.

Instead it’s literally a +1 button next to all the searches where you can give props to searches you enjoy. You’ll be able to see what your friends +1 and what the public +1’s too.

It’s sorta a neat idea, like a Like, Digg or upvote for the entire web. And Google is pretty invested in the idea, if only to learn what you +1 so they can better target ads. According to TechCrunch, this is only the beginning of the +1 project (which Google is keeping slow because of previous public embarrassments in Social) and should be rolling out today.
