Forget Sharing Photos And Start Sharing Musical Moments

There are plenty of apps which allow you to share photos with friends – Path and Instagram, for example – but the Soundtracking iPhone app wants to let you share something more: musical moments.

The idea behind the Soundtracking app is simple: It’s a way to easily share 30-second snippets of songs along with photos and comments with friends and followers.

You can either manually enter a song, allow the app to identify a tune, or select a song already playing on your iOS device. Then you can add a few notes, a location tag, photos or album art before sharing your musical moment with your friends and followers. That’s it. Pretty basic, but rather clever – and definitely more fun than just sharing photos.

The app is free and available through iTunes now. [iTunes]
