We’re big fans of 3D printing here at Gizmodo, which is why we’re super excited that Aussie company Prototype Labs has launched 3D printing services for Australia.
Based in Tuggerah on the NSW Central Coast, the company uses two 3D printing machines to create accurate and affordable 3D models of complex designs. Among the examples of the things they’ve printed on the website are model houses, engineering hardware and random designer products like jewellery and toys. While there’s no price guide, they do offer the ability to get a quote through the website, and have the capability to print multiple models at once to keep costs down.
Given the speed and cost efficiency of 3D printing, we’d expect this to be the first of many 3D printing companies setting up in Australia.
