Use Sugar Cubes To Grind Logos Off Your Gear

You like free swag and dig your gadgets, but you’re a bit embarrassed by the less-than-subtle branding. Enter the Sugar Cube Sanding method, an oldie-but-goodie demonstrated in ’50s mental hygiene style by the crew at Tested.

Tested’s advice is solid, and as they point out, it’s a trick that works better on metal-like surfaces and glass than on plastic. One or two tips they left out: cover the non-logo surfaces nearby with clear tape to prevent accidental scratching, and especially cover any holes, ports or keyboards to keep sugar from getting in there. Otherwise, do as Tested shows you in the clip above.

Had any success with the sugar cube method? I used it to remove logos from two of the metal-cover USB drives, like those shown in the clip, with great success. Found other gear that makes your life less corporate?
