A hacker claims he’s infiltrated the PlayStation Network – their version of Xbox Live – and discovered that Sony not only collects a lot of data on everything that your PlayStation 3 is plugged into, they also do a terrible job with your credit card information.
This is a short example of the unencrypted info that gets sent to Sony, supposedly, every time you turn on your PS3.

Ars Technica says that there’s always the likelihood that this hacker isn’t completely legit, but also says that the info they obtained matches what they’ve seen in other reports of PSN behaviour. [Ars Technica]
