Rest Assured, Shakira Fans, Sony Isn’t Pulling Its Wares From iTunes

Sony Music Entertainment isn’t pulling out of iTunes, according to their COO Shawn Layden. Ad Age reported the other day that Sony was pulling out in retaliation for Apple blocking Sony’s Reader app from the App Store, but au contraire claims Layden:

“Sony Music as I understand it has no intention of withdrawing from iTunes, they’re one of our biggest partners in the digital domain. I think those words were either taken out of context or the person who spoke them was unclear on the circumstances.”

Glad that’s cleared up, and I can go back to downloading Santana, Bruce Springsteen and Avril Lavinge songs, safe in the knowledge that… oh wait, I don’t use iTunes. [Business Insider]
