Chicago Driver Sued For Facebook-While-Driving Fatality

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly updating her Facebook page by mobile phone when she struck and killed a 70-year-old pedestrian.

The woman involved has defended herself saying she was not on Facebook, but had been temporarily blinded by the sun at the time of the accident. Her mother came to her defence as well, stating the Facebook status had been updated earlier when her daughter was waiting in the car, 3km away from the crash. [Chicago Tribune]
