Marvin Walter Wimberly Jr wrote a virus for Whac-a-Mole machines that would disable them after a certain number of plays. He wanted to stay employed, but now he’s been hit with the soft mallet of the law.
Police say he wrote the virus in 2008 and sold modules with the virus installed for $US51,000. Once the modules shut down he sold another batch of infected modules. Apparently his goal was to set up a company that sold working modules to replace the infected ones. I reckon he’s just a mole in the competitive Whac-a-Mole machine industry. [Orlando Sentinel]
