Report Lists OLED Screen, 3G As Likely PSP2 Features

Whatever your thoughts on Sony, admit they know what they want: Powerful consoles with plenty of bells and whistles. The PSP2 is rumoured to be PS3-powerful, and now we think it will have an OLED screen and 3G connectivity too.

Whether this will be the configuration consumers want remains to be seen, of course, but it is undeniable that this new portable is quickly shaping up to be bigger, badder and, well, likely as expensive as its $US250 PSP predecessor (if not more). For reference and comparison’s sake, the Nintendo 3DS launches in March for $US250.

We’ll certainly know more soon. The purported January 27 unveiling is imminent. [Nikkei via Engadget]
