MSI’s Fastest Gaming Notebook Is An Overclocking Beast

Intel’s next-generation core processors are just out of the oven, and you can already overclock the bejeezus out of ’em. The G Series notebooks from MSI? They let you overclock 10-15 per cent beyond what Sandy Bridge intended.

The 17.3-inch GT780 and 15.6-inch GT680 both pack the latest Core i7 quad core processors, along with MSI’s Turbo Drive Engine, an overclocking technology that juices up your system with the touch of a button. Both feature Nvidia GeForce GTX 500 Series (or 400 Series) graphics cards, along with USB 3.0 standard, dual SSD storage, and up to 16GB RAM. Vrooooom.

Surely a challenger will emerge, probably even sometime this week, that can push Sandy Bridge to even more brazen speeds. But for now, the G Series seems like a pretty sick ride in a very fast machine.

The GT680’s coming this month for the sounds-expensive-but-maybe-not-for-what-you-get sticker price of $US1500, with its big brother following before June this year.
