Apple Didn’t Buy The Company Famous For Making iMuffs

Prior rumours may have sounded reasonably convincing, but apparently Apple did not acquire Wi-Gear, a company famous for making the iMuffs Bluetooth headphones.

After proclaiming that he wishes the rumours were true, Wi-Gear CEO Mark Pundsack did explain what happened to his company:

Pundsack says that there’s no truth to the purported purchase by Cupertino, adding that “Wi-Gear and its IP are still available for sale.” In a followup e-mail, he added that Wi-Gear had ceased operations due to a lack of funding.

So, there we have it. Apple didn’t buy Wi-Gear, but anyone interested can. [MacWorld]
