This is the brain of the Nimitz-class supercarrier USS Harry S. Truman - its air control centre. From here, the ship performs its core function: Command around 64 aircraft, including F/A-18F Super Hornets, Hornets, Prowlers, Hawkeyes, Greyhounds and Seahawk helicopters.

These 3.1sqm of floating, mobile US soil are powered by two Westinghouse A4W nuclear reactors, which allow her to travel for 20 years without refuelling. Right now, the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is deployed in the Arabian Sea as part of the US 5th Fleet. [Flickr]
