A new road bike will probably cost you a couple of grand. It'll also probably weigh 10-15kg. But this featherweight specimen, made entirely out of carbon fibre, skimps on nothing - and weighs only 2.7kg. Worth $US45,000?
The thing - crafted by Tuscon's Fairwheel Bikes - really is a beautiful piece of engineering: titanium spokes, 10-speed rear gear and a tough, gorgeous carbon frame you could haul around with one hand. You might scoff at the spritely bike - shouldn't racing equipment be tough? - but Fairwheel Bikes has already glided across 32,000km of pavement with the prototype, ensuring its durability.
