This Is The Winning Environmental Photograph Of The Year

At first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking that grey area is a bunch of coral or rocks jutting out of the ocean. Or maybe it's a scene from space?

In actual fact, it's thousands of Munkiana Devil Ray stingrays off the coast of Baja California Sur in Mexico. The snap secured photographer Florian Schulz's winning placement in the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management's annual awards, which had 4500 entries from 97 different countries. All of the winning photos will be exhibited at the Air Gallery in London, October 25-30. [Epoty via The Telegraph and Daily Mail]
