HTC Desire HD Arriving in October

Today in London, HTC announced the launch of the HTC Desire HD, their new 4.3-inch Android handset. While we don’t yet know specific launch plans for Australia, we do know “major European and Asian markets” will get the phone in October. That should be us too, right? Right??

The big focus of the Desire HD is on multimedia performance. It’s packing an 8MP camera with dual flash and 720p video recording, all powered by the new 1GHz 8255 Snapdragon processor. For playback, it includes Dolby Mobile and SRS virtual surround.

The new body is designed based on the HTC Legend unibody, with the body sculpted from a solid aluminium block.

There are also significant updates to HTC Sense, with the inclusion of new online services, plus on-demand maps without the need for downloading.
