You Can Fry An Egg On The ioSafe Solo

We’ve seen some pretty entertaining attempts to prove that the ioSafe Solo is a pretty-much indestructible external hard drive, but the guys from Choice decided to do it the Aussie way and cooked one on a barbecue.

As you can see from the clip above, the hard drive withstood 15 minutes on a red-hot barbecue and heated up enough to fry an egg on. They then submerged the drive in water for a further five minutes, before pulling it apart and checking the hard drive. All the data was fine.

Most people probably don’t need this level of security for their hard drives, but if you need an extra hotplate for your barbecue, this could be it.
