Topographical Carpet Must Be Mine, My Toes Decree It

Imagine a vast kingdom of rolling hills and rippling tides, cast in soothing shades of green, blue and yellow. A kingdom that is soft and squishy. A kingdom in which the only doctrine is the Divine Right of Toes.

It took the help of 30 friends for Laurens van Wieringen to construct this magical place - a carpet that uses foam bars to create a sort of landscape raised in relief - but it was certainly worth it. How will I ever settle for a rug that's content to exist largely in two dimensions?

I hope they don't do anything too rash - my toes can be petty and jealous tyrants. [Design Milk]
