The to-ing and fro-ing of the Avatar 3D launch increased in noise today, with HDGuru.com reporting that the 3D Blu-ray will be bundled exclusively with Panasonic 3DTVs. We'd previously heard it'd be tethered to the purchase of Blu-ray players also.
HDGuru.com is pointing at a August/September launch for the disc - earlier than previous rumours which suggested it would be November at the very earliest. In fact, last we heard, it wouldn't be seen on store shelves until early 2011.
That could still be the case, with Panasonic getting first dibs on what will be the most sought-after 3D film for a good while. Unless you happen to be an Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs fan, that is. [HDGuru.com]
