Remember that amazing mosquito-zapping laser we saw a while back? Here is a better look at it and other tech which will hopefully kill malaria and those annoying buzzing beasts which spread it.
The fellow you're seeing for most of this video from the TED 2010 conference is Nathan Myhrvold. He and his fellow mad scientists may seem a bit goofy and have lofty goals, but I have a lot of faith in them. After all, how can you not succeed in eradicating a disease when you're using lasers to kill mosquitoes?
PS: If you don't really want to hear about the various anti-malaria and malaria-diagnosing tech, you can skip to about nine minutes into the video and watch just the crazy laser. [Thanks, Medopal!]
