First Hotel To Offer iPads In Rooms Charges $US3000 A Night

Brits - as you're still waiting for the iPad to land, consider booking a night at the Berkeley hotel in London, which is offering an iPad for guests staying in their suites... at a cost of £2000 a night.

The Berkeley, an exclusive hotel located in the salubrious area of Knightsbridge, is boasting that as "the official UK launch of the iPad [is]still not upon us, you can be sure that our guests will be amongst the first to experience the delights of this new innovation".

Last weekend marked the introduction of an iPad in the suites, which are offered for reading the daily newspapers, or visiting the local attractions as chosen by the hotel's Concierge. This comes after another hotel chain, the InterContinental, started using iPads in hotel lobbies across London, New York, Buckhead Atlanta and Hong Kong, to give directions for nearby venues and attractions.

As desperate as some Brits may be to get ahold of the iPad, I hope they realise flying to New York and buying one there would work out cheaper than staying just one night at the Berkeley - no matter how plush their pillows may be. [The Berkeley via MacFormat's Twitter]
