Just 11 months ago Brits were popping bottles of Vueve Clicquot in the streets, celebrating over the news that Hulu was packing its bags and flying over for a launch. Now, those party poppers lay in the gutter in tatters.
The Telegraph has broken the unfortunate news that the UK launch is indefinitely put on hold, as they couldn't get "any traction in the British TV market". While Hulu themselves hasn't confirmed the news, senior execs at various broadcasters have ended talks with them, largely in part because they want to develop their own online offerings, rather than feed someone else's baby.
