I Wish Cityrail Had Trains That Didn’t Have To Stop

This design for trains that don’t have to stop is awesome. I don’t think it’s something that Cityrail will be adopting anytime soon, and not because the video is in Mandarin, either.

Essentially, the concept works by having compartments that connect to the top of the train, allowing passengers to embark and disembark at their leisure, while the train continues on without stopping.

As awesome an idea as it is, I can’t imagine we’ll see it anywhere any time soon – I don’t know how gentle the joining of the connector cabin would be. Not to mention the cost of upgrading platforms, trains, stations and everything else involved with train travel for the whole concept to work.
