eMusic No Longer Accepting Aussie Subscribers

title=eMusic was always one of the good, cheap, global online music stores that offered music without DRM. And now they’re not accepting any new Australian subscribers.

As Alex Savvides over at CNet AU has discovered, the online music retailer has succumbed to licensing restrictions for everyone outside of Europe, the US and Canada.

As a small consilation, current Australian customers are not affected, and can continue to use the service – they’re just not accepting new customers. Still, in a world where the music industry is struggling against piracy, taking away a legal option because of geographic location is just plain stupid.
