3D is here, whether we're ready for it or not. But! 3D projectors cost as much as $US175,000. There's a modicum of hope, though - if you already own a 2D projector - in this neat little workaround called OculR.
The OculR system, from Oculus3D, is still too pricey for individual consumers at $US20,000-$US25,000 per screen. But its compatibility with any standard 35mm projector could be a boon to smaller, local cinema chains. It's also - apparently - a simple lens installation, but I'm not expert enough in projector room shenanigans to confirm that. Not yet, anyway. [Oculus3D via SlashGear]
