Remember back in July when we first heard about Fujifilm’s 3D camera that didn’t need those stupid glasses to view? Well, it’s out now, alongside a dedicated picture viewer, which also doesn’t require glasses.
The FinePix REAL 3D W1 camera will set you back $899, while the FinePix REAL 3D V1 has an RRP of $699. Fujifilm also say that they’ll be launching a 3D print service in the near future.

FUJIFILM announced today that its much anticipated FinePix REAL 3D System which allows you to capture, view and print digital photos in a 3D format without the need to wear special 3D glasses, is now available in Australia.
The FinePix REAL 3D System incorporates a 3D digital camera “FinePix REAL 3D W1”, a 3D picture viewer “FinePix REAL 3D V1” and 3D prints.
FUJIFILM has a long history of imaging and information innovation and is once again breaking new ground with a digital camera that can capture 3D stills and movies on the FinePix REAL 3D W1 and the FinePix REAL 3D V1 – an 8-inch viewer where spectacular 3D images can be displayed.
FUJIFILM has also developed a 3D Print system enabling you to print and keep your 3D images as never before. This service is expected to be available online in the near future.
FinePix REAL 3D W1
FUJIFILM has newly developed the FinePix REAL3D W1 Lens System, incorporating the installation of two Fujinon lenses that enable two images to be layered together to achieve a natural 3D image. A robust aluminium die-cast frame has been used to protect the lenses from vibration and impact.Complete with a 3x optical zoom, the FinePix REAL 3D W1 also incorporates a newly developed RP (Real Photo) Processor 3D chip which synchronises the data passed to it by CCD sensors to determine shooting conditions such as focus, brightness and tonality, before instantaneously blending this information into a single high quality image for both stills and movies.
Settings on the FinePix REAL 3D W1 can be adjusted to suit the scene being photographed. When using the Individual Shutter 3D Shooting mode, the camera shifts to take the second shot after taking the first shot and saves a single 3D image in the camera manually, enabling editing of 3D images.
When using the Interval 3D Shooting mode, it is possible to capture two shots from different viewpoints continuously while the photographer is moving.
The Parallax Control (3D Tuning Function) allows manual adjustment of 3D images to produce a customised view for each person.
2D Photography
Standard 2D photographs can also be captured on the FinePix REAL 3D W1, which offers fun new possibilities in 2D photography. The Advanced 2D Mode enables the capture of two different shots of the same scene simultaneously by pressing the shutter once, while with Tele/Wide Simultaneous Shooting it is possible to capture a close-up photo of the subject and at the same time a photo with a wider span, just by changing the settings of the two lenses.
…2/…With the 2-Colour Simultaneous Shooting mode photos of the scene can be captured with different colour tones by changing the processing signals on the two sensors, while 2-Sensitivity Simultaneously Shooting mode enables you to change the sensitivity setting of the two shooting systems which expands the range of photographic expression. There are also 13 scene positions to accommodate various shooting styles for both 2D and 3D shooting.
The newly developed 2.8-inch 3D LCD monitor displays natural and beautiful 2D and 3D images, enabling you to compose and playback your images easily.
FinePix REAL 3D V1
The FinePix REAL 3D V1 picture viewer features FUJIFILM’s newly developed 3D/2D display 8-inch LCD panel which allows you to view your 3D stills and movies without wearing special glasses. Simply insert an SD memory card where 3D images have been saved and enjoy a 3D slideshow by switching on the power.With its various playback functions, you can enjoy various 3D and 2D slideshows, plus a Micro Thumbnail View and an easy-to-use Image Search feature.
With an adjustable stand you can change the angle for clearer 3D viewing and enjoy simple operation with the intuitive remote control included. The viewer can read and display image data stored on memory cards and can receive image data via high-speed infrared communication. You can also directly connect it to a personal computer via USB and transfer stored images to the viewer for display.
3D Prints
Through the use of lenticular sheets, FUJIFILM has integrated high precision prints into its 3D offering in order to produce stunning high resolution 3D images.The process involves the 3D image data being integrated using advanced technology and projected through a lenticular sheet lens to produce an image with binocular disparity.
A 3D print service will be available online in the near future.

The FUJIFILM FinePix REAL 3D System has a recommended retail price of $899 and the FinePix REAL 3D V1 picture viewer has a recommended retail price of $699.
