Despite its diminutive size, Panasonic's scrappy little EVOLTA-powered robot managed to make five laps around the LeMans circuit in France over a period of 24 hours before running out of juice. That's nearly 24 km on just two AA batteries.
That accomplishment earned Panasonic the Guinness World Record for "the longest distance covered by a battery-operated remote-controlled model car." Impressive, but I still say rechargeables are where it's at. [Evolta via Crunchgear]
