I didn't know much about Andy Riley till I saw his newly published book of "alarming inventions," DIY Dentistry.
Riley's ability to come up with products—whether realistic, totally absurd or both—seems boundless, and his not-so-dry British wit keeps the pages turning, like a Monty Python sketch, from one random thought to the next. When I read Riley's bio, I wasn't surprised that he's also been a writer for some of my favourite BBC comedy, such as Little Britain and Black Books. The fact is, the guy's mind is like some kind of wild amalgam of Gary Larson, Dr. Seuss and Dean Kamen, and for that, we salute him. [DIY Dentistry - $8.62 at Amazon]
