Apple has issued a formal apology for approving Sikalasoft's Baby Shaker application—an application that required users to shake the iPhone to shut up a virtual baby—making it available in their iTunes Store.
"We sincerely apologise for this mistake," said Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris, amidst protests by family associations and critics. Kerris classified the application as "deeply offensive." I agree with her. It's also dumb and badly done. On the other side, good for Apple to issue an statement to shut up the whiners and those looking to ride the publicity wave that has resulted from the polemic. [Yahoo]
