Seems like only a few years ago Microsoft was courting Yahoo. Yeah, that didn’t work out so hot. Well, Microsoft is back to kicking Yahoo’s tyres. And this time Yahoo isn’t telling Redmond to get off its lawn.
A symbol of the internet’s success, a reminder of the the dot.com crash, and otherwise just a nice-looking neon sign, the Yahoo! billboard has welcomed drivers to the Bay Bridge in San Francisco for more than a decade. Sadly, its time has come.
Wall Street has been a mess of bodies and police for the past few days as Occupy Wall Street protests have clogged up lower Manhattan. But there were some congestion problems online too, as Yahoo was reportedly blocking emails attempting to organise the gathering.
