Not much has been left to mystery with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile app store—we even know what it’ll look like. Now it has officially opened its doors to developers, and published all the rules.
Microsoft has dribbled out a few specifics about their upcoming Windows Mobile Marketplace: an industry standard 70% dev commission, a familiar $US99 joining fee, and a somewhat pointed pledge of “transparency”.
Microsoft finally got around to giving official word on the stopgap disaster relief measure known as Windows Mobile 6.5, and here it is: Marketplace, My Phone and the new interface are, as expected, happening.
Microsoft has recently posted some interesting job listings that lend themselves to (unconfirmed but solid) speculation. Their acquisition of European mobile music provider Musiwave last year just deepens the mystery.
