Posted by Adam Frucci at 1:40 AM on December 13, 2008

Here's the new Watchmen international trailer, featuring a decent amount of new footage, including Dr. Manhattan turning a tank back into the parts from whence it came. Man, I can't wait for this movie. [io9}

New Watchmen Trailer Censors Out Dr. Manhattan Bits

Posted by Elaine Chow at 3:00 PM on November 14, 2008

There's a new Watchmen trailer and this time around the blurry blue gonads are GONE. That's right, Dr. Manhattan's CG wang has been edited out by true-to-comic hating censors. But don't let half-second flashes (or the lack of them) of superhero man meat let you down, the rest of the trailer contains explosions, arse kicking, and proof that the Silk Spectre can do more than just strut around and kiss people.

New Watchmen Character Posters Give Gadgets Sneak Peek

Posted by Jesus Diaz at 10:15 PM on November 12, 2008

Behold, the amazing new character banners for Watchmen, a perfect mix of reality and illustration styling. One of the things that I loved about Watchmen back in the 80s--yes, I bought the original when it first came out--was the technology, omnipresent across the whole series. Dave Gibbons made every gadget and architectural structure perfectly futuristic and credible, yet absolutely retro. From Archie--Nite Owl's flamethrowing, screeching, smog-producing, almost invisible and completely submergible ship--to Rorschach's hook launcher, which you can see in these posters alongside the Comedian's flamethrower, a glimpse of Ozymandias' Karnak, and--ahem--the Silk's hot garter belt.

New Watchmen Trailer Offers Up New Footage, Same Blurry Blue Genitals

Posted by Adam Frucci at 2:45 AM on October 23, 2008

Hoo boy, it's a new Watchmen trailer! The most anticipated-by-nerds movie of 2009 is looking pretty damned good, and this trailer, shown at the 2008 Scream Awards on Spike TV, offers up some nice new footage of Dr. Manhattan blowing all sorts of stuff up. There's also fire and darkness and lots of upset looking people. All in all, I like it. [io9]

LEGO Dr. Manhattan Reminds Us To Be Excited About Watchmen

Posted by Jason Chen at 9:00 AM on September 14, 2008

Have you lost your excitement about the upcoming Watchmen movie? This Dr. Manhattan poster constructed out of LEGO pieces should remind you that you need to turn up that giddiness dial a bit. Great job, artpoly! All that's missing is Manhattan's LEGO junk. Maybe you can CGI that in, like in the trailer. [Thanks Ryan!]

Nite Owl's Archie Makes Us Even More Excited about Watchmen

Posted by Jesus Diaz at 11:00 PM on August 8, 2008

If the trailer and the documentaries about the construction of a real Watchmen world weren't enough to get you excited about this project, check out this short on the coolest gadget in the movie: the Owlship or Archie, like Nite Owl calls his flamethrowing, screeching, smog-producing, almost invisible and completely submergible ship. The producers have created a full scale model with every single knob, device, and detail from the original comic book. [Watchmen in Gizmodo]

Nerdgasm: Watchmen Trailer Hits Web a Day Early

Posted by Adam Frucci at 6:15 AM on July 18, 2008

Here it is, my friends: the first trailer for one of the most highly-anticipated comic book film adaptations ever. Yep, it's the trailer for Watchmen that's debuting before The Dark Knight. Directed by Zack Snyder of 300 fame, it's sure to be the biggest fanboy magnet of the decade. The trailer is due to hit the web tomorrow, but Empire put it up early by accident before quickly pulling it down. Not quickly enough! So, what say you? Does it meet your excruciatingly-high expectations so far, or do you already think it's ruined the greatest graphic novel EVAR? It looks pretty badass from where I'm sitting; hit the jump to judge for yourself.

Screw Computer Graphics: Watchmen World Gets Built for Real

Posted by Jesus Diaz at 1:00 AM on April 7, 2008

Just when we thought we were going to get a sensory overload thanks to Tony, Bruce, Hulk, and Indy, here comes Watchmen to kick our eyeballs again. Like JJ Abrams' Star Trek, director Zack Snyder is actually building massive sets instead of depending entirely on 3D graphics and green screens.
