Like, enough that a definitive guide would be very, very useful. Oh!

Lifehacker, doing what they do best, has put together an incredibly helpful list of Windows 7 keyboard shortcuts, as well as a few new mouse tricks for good measure. Discovering a single new keyboard shortcut is enough to make a desk drone’s day—I rank the time I happened across the Windows+M shortcut as one of the best moments of Junior high, right above not getting acne scars and right below that one time I touched a boob with my elbow—but this list, which is full of stuff like that, including fresh Windows 7 goodies, is a revelation. My favourite?

[O]ne of the best new hotkeys in Windows 7 is the fact that you can create a new folder with a hotkey. Just open up any Windows Explorer window, hit the Ctrl+Shift+N shortcut key sequence, and you’ll be rewarded with a shiny “New Folder” ready for you to rename.

Oh, yes. [Lifehacker]

After reporting some issues with their internet connection, technicians advised the folks over at Unplggd to wipe the tips of their ethernet cord with a coffee filter. Apparently the filters are excellent at catching loose impediments like lint, plus the technician reported witnessing more than on instance where installers had left cheeseburger grease on cords. Gross.

A bit anticlimactically, this coffee filter tip didn’t solve the problem for Unplggd, but it might still help you. Well, that, or you’ll just start licking those cords clean like we do. [Unplggd]

Considering the sheer enormity of the Sydney Apple Store, why would anyone want to go shopping in all three Aussie Apple stores in one day? Especially when the man doing it is the antithesis of an Apple fanboy? The answer, it turns out, is the challenge. It’s all part of Lifehacker’s Hand Luggage Only mission (which you might have seen us advertising on Giz), where Editor Angus is literally spending the month of May travelling around every state in Australia with only a single suitcase and sharing the lessons learned for more economical travelling with Lifehacker readers.

As it turned out, he did manage to visit all three stores and pick up a $100 iTunes gift voucher from each of them, which he’ll be giving away on Lifehacker. It’s a good thing he did it today as well – visiting four stores across three states would be a very big ask, and with the Robina store opening this weekend, he just avoided that very situation.

Still, in typical Lifehacker fashion, Gus picked up a few interesting pointers from each of the Apple Stores, like the fact Apple can email receipts instead of printing them out (although only Chatswood offered that) and Sydney likes to give away plastic bags.

Head on over to Lifehacker to follow the Hand Luggage Only adventures. And feel free to enter the competition.

At first I didn’t think it was all that relevant for you guys, but now I’ve decided that you too might want to hear all about Blam’s latest snowboarding epic adventure, or Frucci’s latest virus scare. Or even just watch them bitch at eachother in a public forum. So, here are all the Twitter contacts for the Gizmodo team, both US and local:First off, you can start with the Giz AU feed here. And while we’re talking local, you can follow me here. (You should also checkout the other Allure sites: Lifehacker, Kotaku, Defamer and Babble)

From the US, you’ve got Blam, Chen, Rothman, Jesus, Mahoney, Wilson, Buchanan, Frucci, plus contributing editors Fallon, Loftus and Hermann, and, to round it out, intern Andi.

And if you don’t quite get the whole Twitter thing… well, you’re missing out, that’s all I’m saying.
