Calendar Tape Marks Your Organisational Crime Scenes

I kind of like the idea of adding a monthly calendar to just about anything with this Calendar Roll tape. $US10 gets you one roll each for weekdays and full months. [ThinkGeek via BBG]

In the Future, No One Will Have Eyebrows

What is the worst product idea you’ve ever heard? Now double it. We’re talking about sunglasses that tape on, and yes, they’re real.

Audio Ripping Cassette Deck Lets You Record Analogue to Digital, and Digital to…Analog?

Most analog-to-digital audio ripping devices hardly warrant mention these days. But the PlusDeck Ex’s ability to record MP3s to analogue cassette is so odd, I can’t help but be amused.

Tapehead Inspector Is Coming For Your Tapes

A brilliant use of old tech, the Tapehead Inspector is a manual tape reader not meant so much for playback of your favourite ’80s power ballad mix, but for new music creation. Constructed by removing the tapehead from an old Walkman, it sounds quite a bit like a mixer as it runs over old tape and/or magnetised cards in your wallet. Oh, and it’s stored in a giant cassette tape, which is more than a little fantastic. [Zero-Waste via MAKE]

If You Build a PC Case Out of Duct Tape, Geeks Will Come

We all know duct tape has a million uses—but did you know that the actual figure is a million and one? It’s true—a bunch of geeks confirmed it when they succeeded in building a PC case entirely out of the sticky stuff. You laugh because it’s stupid, but you have to be impressed with the amount of thought these guys put into the project. They even managed to keep all of the components and the structure itself secure using rolled up duct tape support beams. If you would like to do the same for some reason, complete instructions are available on the project site. [Icrontic]

Sony CFD-W77 Double Tape Machine—I Thought These Things Were Extinct

At first glance, I thought the CFD-W77 was a double iPod dock from our friends at Sony. My second glance made me want to call the SPEG—that’s the Society for the Prevention of Extinction of Gadgets and give them the good news. “The double tape deck is still alive.” This species, with CD player and AM/FM tuner, comes in two shades of gray and can be found in its natural habitat of Japan for around $150.
