The problem with having a teaser Android app — as Samsung did for its IFA surprises via its Samsung Unpacked app — is that enterprising folks may just have a peek at what’s inside the APK. That’s exactly what’s happened, and while not all of Samsung’s surprises have been uncovered, it turns out that the logos for at least three new Samsung products were already lurking in there.
Welcome to Second Opinion, a semi-regular post where Giz AU offers its own perspective of a gadget the US guys have already reviewed. To kick things off, we’re going to take on the first real competitor to the iPad, Samsung’s Froyo-powered Galaxy Tab.
It was possibly the worst-kept secret in tablet-land (more so than the iPad), but the final specs have now been revealed for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. It’ll run Android 2.2 (Froyo) and comes in a 7-inch flavor—for now.
It’s got a different button arrangement than the leaked photo we saw previously, but there’s no mistaking the size of the tablet in this (quite blurry) video. Unless it’s really a Samsung phone and very small hand prodding it…
