Just as an example, the players that butt heads in the Rose Bowl will receive a package that includes:

# Sony DVD camcorder
# Commemorative Fossil watch
# Commemorative Ogio backpack
# Commemorative New Era 5950 fitted hat
# Commemorative plaque
# Commemorative autograph football
# One-year subscription to ESPN the Magazine

And the title game between Florida and Oklahoma? Try a $US300 Sony Gifting Suite (player’s choice up to $US300 in Sony electronics), a Tourneau Watch, and a Blockbuster video movie rental subscription. Even the lowly Poinsettia Bowl, which I hadn’t heard of until today, nets players an iPod touch and some Best Buy gift cards.

Oh, how I hate my decision to go into journalism. All I have to show for it is a drinking problem and the ability to toss anonymous snark around the Net with the grace of a disgruntled gazelle. Sigh. [FOX Sports]

This is your chance! Some former employee is now auctioning off his sad, sordid history with the company (he actually saved up 300 different pieces of flair from his time there) to the highest bidder. There are mobile phone holsters, fanny packs, flip flops, balloons (never been blown), candy bars, bandanas, photo frames, mobile phones, beach volleyball blow-ups, lunch bags, ankle socks, SPF30 sunblock, licence plate with “very catchy and clever saying” (guess what it is), and various other things nobody would ever buy used. As a bonus game, guess the end price of this listing in the comments. [eBay - Thanks Tim!]

This year, Sharp kept the same size, but made their bags inflatable. The result is that you had the same morons colliding with you everywhere, but at least it didn’t hurt your legs, arms, or body. And with that, I really mean crotch.

Plus, as a bonus, I was able to use them to lie down, take a siesta, and tan in the Berlin Messe gardens. Thank you Addy, you make the world go ’round. [More IFA 2008 Coverage]
